My parents dog Jack has a lot of weird fears and quirks. My brother discovered that if a laundry basket or some large object is up against the wall in front of the hallway door leading into the kitchen, Jack won’t go around it to get past. He’ll only go once you move the object from the wall. Weirdo.
Max from GBM has the same problem. If there is something partially obscuring his way he gets confused and “stuck.” I don’t think it’s a fear issue so much as dogs literally interpret some objects as a wall.
